Bunion
I have a small bunion (inherited genetically), which occasionally gives me pain (like if I ice skate or wear too tight high heels). I was wondering if it is better to have bunion surgery while I’m still young (upper teens) or wait until it gets bad…because I know I’m eventually going to have it done.
yeah actually its way better to have it done when you’re young.

i’m 17 and i had it done about 2 and a half weeks ago…and i dont regret it so far…
my mum had it done a couple years ago…and Im healing a lot faster than she did…My doctor said it was because i’m young, and a bunch of other health factors….
so yeahhh its much better to do it when you’re young
good luck, mine are genetic too

Podiatry
Absolutely! They’re a lot less stringent w/the GPA and MCAT than med school. a 3.0 and 25+ MCAT should make you a very viable candidate.

Good Luck!

Orthotics
I have the orthotics made from a mold of my foot. Here’s the shoes I bought:http://etnies.com/footwear/mens/sheckler-2/whitegumblack/
Is putting my orthotics in them doing more bad than good for my feet?
I used to have orthodics and as along as it has a closed heel(no flip flops) then you are absolutely fine;)!

Painful Toe Joint
It has been a week now and it has affected my toes, arms, hands, arms, and legs.My hands and feet are swollen. I am on Vicoden and Motrin. I have now started on pred while waiting for the blood work. I am only 28 and very concerned. I can almost not function when I wake up in the morning. My hands are so painful that I can not even cover myself up at night. Anyone else have anything like this?
YOU SHOULD GO TO THE DOCTORS AND GET CHECKED FOR ARTHRITIS

Hammertoes
bunions, hammertoes and corns… which do u have and how did u get them?
my roommate has them from wearing nothing but her stilettos all the time. just wondering how many girls out there suffer from the same thing.
It’s very common. I have some. I used to wear a lot of stilettos. I wore them for about 5 years straight.
It will mess up your toes.

Bunions
Unfortunately the only real way to get rid of them is surgery. You can try special shoes inserts and shoes, but they’re not going to make the bunion go away, they’ll just ease the pain they cause. If they really bother you, ask your doctor for a referral to an orthopedic doctor.

Arch Pain
My grandpa, who is 83 has been having terrible pain in his back, knees and arch of his foot, he can hardly walk, and I don’t know what to do, i’m planning on taking him to the doctor on Monday morning, but in the mean time what can I do to help him? What are some causes of this type of pain?
He may have pulled a muscle, but has not fallen.

Plantar Fasciitis
A friend of mine who has the same foot size I do has recently been suffering form heel pain. It seems like Plantar Fasciitis, it could be a heel spur she’s going to the doctor soon. I was wondering if the hard arch supports I got for repeated ankle sprains could help her in the meantime. The supports on heelspurs.com weren’t hard so I was concerned they might aggravate her heel.
