I have a pain in the arch of my foot what is it?
I have a pain in my right foot. It is in the arch located about right in the center of it. it hurts when i get up and walk sometimes. I need to know what it is
I had this problem in college when I was running in shoes without any support. At first they suspected a hairline fracture, so it could be that. Mine turned out to be irritation to the nerves. It was a really sharp pain on top of the foot in the center of the arch that made walking difficult and running impossible. They wanted to prescribe steroids, which they said would promote healing and stop the pain. I feared I might push myself too hard if the pain didn’t cause me to limp, so I let it heal by itself. It took a couple of months.
Not saying for sure that this is what you have, of course.

Bruise? Sound like a bruise. Or blood clot.

Could be a lot of things. If your hip or knee is out, it can cause your arches to lock up like that. Also, if you have high arches, and you don’t have proper shoes, it can cause stress on your arches, which can also make them lock up. I’ve also heard that if it happens a lot, and not due to the prior causes, it can mean that you’re lacking in potassium or calcium, but I’d bet it’s the first two over the last.

sounds like you have a fallen arch.
check on the web for foot ailments, fallen arch, and podiatrists.
arch supports can help this.

It could be a pinched nerve, or maybe a potassium deficiency. I’ve had problems where my hands or toes freeze up and I couldn’t move them and the pain was horrible. Blood tests indicated a deficiency of potassium. Prescribed supplements and a change of diet worked for me.
